Meet Dr. Jacqueline Delaney
I have been privileged to enjoy living in the Truckee area for over 20 years. I love the mountain lifestyle and people that make up our amazing community and feel so lucky to have the opportunity to provide gentle, patient-centered care to my friends and neighbors. My goal is to offer each patient the highest quality of dental care in a comfortable, painless and friendly environment.
Education and Continuing Education
Born and raised in Santa Cruz County, I started my career in dentistry as a dental hygienist after graduating from Cabrillo College. Not long into my career I relocated to Truckee and joined the Sierra Crest Dental team working for Dr. Colpitts where I knew I had found my perfect fit of a dream location, family-oriented community and ideal dental values.
During the early years of my career I enjoyed the flexibility of dental hygiene while growing my family, enjoying life in Truckee, and earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Nevada Reno. I then attended dental school at University of Nevada Las Vegas, where I was awarded my Doctorate of Dental Medicine, graduated Magna Cum Laude and was awarded membership in the National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Following dental school I chose to complete an additional year of formal training and completed a General Practice Residency, also through UNLV, where I became certified in IV sedation. I then returned to Truckee where I rejoined Sierra Crest Dental first as an associate dentist and then purchased the practice in 2019.
Dentistry is an ever-evolving science. Changes in technology, techniques, and materials all lead to better results and more comfortable care for our patients. Part of what keeps dentistry exciting is the challenge of learning new techniques and expanding my skills. I attend over 100 hours of Continuing Education courses each year and am currently in the process of completing a multi year program of study through the Kois Center focusing on the latest advances in esthetics, implants, occlusion and restorative dentistry.
I am an active member of several dental organizations which provide me access to the latest research and opportunities to learn from the leaders in our profession. My memberships include the:
- American Dental Association
- California Dental Accociation
- Academy of General Dentistry
- American Dental Society of Anesthesiology
Personal Life
My husband Mick and I love living in Truckee. We have 2 children and are soon to be empty nesters as our youngest leaves for College this year. Originally, I moved to the mountains for skiing and snow but over the years have found mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding to be my greatest passions. You may run into me out on the trails on my bike or with my two dogs.
